PVC, silica gel and TPE-which is the best choice for sex toys ?

The advanatge of TPE: moderate price, Recycling materials, safety.


In general,if you really care about the price and have few requirements for the raw material,PVC is a choice for you.If you care about the experience and the environmental protection,silica gel and TPE are better than PVC. However,the price of silica gel is higher than TPE.As far as I'm concerned,i think TPE is the best choice for sex toys.

What is TPE + PE ?

There is a very meaningful sentence which I saw by accident today-PE+TPE.OK,what is the really mean of PE+TPE?PE is a hard plastic and TPE is a elastomeric plastic.when they are mixed together, what will happen next.
PE+TPE, one of the possible meaning is that one product contain two kinds of thermoplastic materials:PE and TPE.These two kinds of materials are used for different functions components.first of all, injected PE into mold, and then injected TPE(thermoplastic elastomers) above PE(adhesion to PE).When you walk in a large supermarket ,there are some words (PE+TPE or TPE+PE) on the surface of some plastic commodities,like:handles.In addition,Co-extrusion film and Co-extrusion extrudate are also composite products made by TPE+PE.

PE+TPE, another possible meaning is that some customers want to add some TPE into PE in order to decrease the hardness of PE and improve the flexibility of the material .This products of TPE modified PE, such as some cosmetics bottle cap, water dispenser plastic cover,Disposable gloves for medical use…
PE solubility parameter Sp=8.0, TPE solubility parameter Sp=7.2. The two values are relatively close.From the similar compatibility principle, PE and TPE should have good Blend compatibility.

Just one step to distinguish TPR, Silica gel and PVC

TPR, Silica gel and PVC,they resemble each other both in appearance and touch.It is so hard to distinguish for someone who is not familiar with these. Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) Compounds that are available for a wide-range of applications. These compounds are formulated using Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) .But TPR is not silica gel,they are different material.Now i tell you just one way to distinguish TPR, Silica gel and PVC.  

If you want to distinguish these three materials,you just need one Lighter.You just need to burn it by lighter.Then,pay attention to the color of flame and the smell of burning.

TPR: burning phenomena-The main body color of the flame is yellow, and the root of the flame is blue. Smoking smell:lighter or thicker smoke,fragrant smell.



Silica gel: burning phenomena - The main body color of the flame is bright white. The smoke and the smell of burning are light, and there is a clear white ash residue after combustion.

PVC : burning phenomena - The main body color of the flame is yellow,and the root of the flame is green.smoking smell:black and Dense smoke,bad smell (the smell of chlorine).
