Some basic introduction about TPE pouring materials

TPE pouring materials is a soft plastic materials which are injected by casting or pouring molding.Here TPE refers to the materials are mixed by SEBS,oil and some Chemical additives.

TPE casting or pouring processing :firstly,heating the TPE materials to molten condition by heater(heating temperature:140-180℃).Secondly,Let the molten liquid sprayed or poured into a special casting mold.Finally,casting products can be naturally cooled to become finished products.The whole process are seems to be simple.In fact,  for users who firstly contact with TPE casting products, There’s still a lot to learn,such as:TPE material melting, the selection of the mold materials and mold production.

Type of TPE casting materials:We usually use two kinds hardness of TPE,one is 15(ShoreA),the other is 0(ShoreA).so we just can use very soft TPE materials.

1.SEBS powder mix by oil and some auxiliary: low cost,but it can also have the disadvantages of asymmetry mix, not equal reaction.This caused some bubbles in the final products  2.TPE granules:high cost,well mixed,better final products.

Applications of TPE casting or pouring:sex toys,dolls,medical human model,Damping pad and so on.

TPE/TPR vs PVC in toy industry

The toy industry has been the important export industry in China. Soft plastic toys is always an active element in toy industry, such as: cartoon dolls, doll eraser, monster high fashion doll toys and the simulation toys and so on. They has been praised by foreign and domestic children.

TPE:A better choice for infusion tube

Intravenous infusion is the most commonly used method in clinical treatment, about 60%-70% of our hospital patients get treatment by intravenous infusion, about 80% of the emergency patients also get treatment by intravenous infusion.

Compared with other methods, intravenous infusion is the biggest risk way So the safety of intravenous infusion get more and more attention. There are many factors that affect the safety of clinical transfusion, and the material of the infusion device is an important link among them. 

Traditional PVC infusion has some defects,for example(1) Need to add plasticizer, generally DEHP (2) need to add  variety of metal ions as stabilizers, 
such as lead, cadmium, etc.(3) Dioxin can severely pollute the environm

Compared with the traditional PVC infusion, TPE infusion has the following characteristics(1)with no plasticizer-DEHP.  (2)with no stabilizers  (3) with no dioxin.

Brief introduction of environmentally friendly TPE materials: do not contain DEHP and other plasticizers, does not contain nonyl phenol (NP), 
does not contain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAHs, does not contain bisphenol A (BPA), without the addition of any stabilizer. TPE is

How temperature influence the processing of TPE adhesion to ABS ？？

It is very common for TPE adhesion to ABS. On the premise of no problem for the equipment and mould. Temperature is the main infuential factor of injection molding processing.

some time ago, i have follow a client who look for TPE materials adhesion ABS. His product is a button(size:80 mm long,20 mm wide, 2~3mm Thickness, Main material is ABS) so he want some TPE materials to adhesion to this button in order to get better soft feeling.

First step, i take some button samples to our engineers for testing. according to the result, they provide me a TPE materials(hardness:50A,specific gravity:1.07) with Good mobility. I carried these sample to my client's factory for testing the sample.

second step: the processing of testing. First time, their engineer adjusted the temperature of machine to 190℃ but the result is very bad because of the product deformation. Second time,185℃，the result is better than first time. Third time, it is perfect.

Analysis summary: the reason of Product deformation is too much higher temperature during processing of overmolding and too fast speed of open mould. The concrete problem need a concrete analysis-GainShine TPE
